Managing Editor Brad Bradshaw refuses to run a story linking the disappearance of Frank Canfield with embezzlement of the bank. He considers Frank a straight shooter and he goes easy on the story. Every other paper goes with the story that Frank took the money and Brad is demoted, by the publisher, to the Heartthrob column - writing advice to the lovelorn. After feeling sorry for himself for two months, he takes the column seriously and makes it the talk of the town. But Brad still wants his old job back so he will have to find Canfield and the missing money.

One night, Nellie the Elephant hears the head of the herd calling to her from far, far away. Tired of performing in the circus and longing for home, Nellie packs her trunk and begins her journey home. Each episode chronicles the adventures of Nellie as she takes trains, planes, ships, and rockets to get back to her family in the jungle. Nellie meets endearing characters along the way.

Hi-de-Hi! is a British sitcom set in Maplins, a fictional holiday camp, during 1959 and 1960, and was written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, who also wrote Dad's Army and It Ain't Half Hot Mum amongst others.
